Minister Suharso : Regional Development Is the Heart of National Development

IdentikPos.com, Jakarta – The Minister for National Development Planning said that the main spirit of national development is regional development. That spirit is contained in the second National Priority of the 2020-2024 RPJMN, namely developing areas to reduce inequality and ensure equality.

This was said during his speech at the Bali Provincial Government Work Plan Musrenbang, on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.

“The regional perspective plays an important role in socio-economic transformation, one of them is by increasing the production chain and regional value chain, optimizing regional excellence and competitiveness, and increasing the distribution of quality of life between regions,” said the Minister.

Therefore, the Minister emphasized that regional development planning is a very important part of national development planning.

The Minister also said that Bali received special attention in the direction of development in 2022 that needed to be jointly guarded, they are: (1) strengthening Bali as a modern economic center and competing at the global level by relying on the creative economy and tourism services based on culture, nature, and MICE; (2) developing an Integrated Tourism Development Master Plan that balances cultural preservation and sustainable tourism development; (3) reactivation of the Bali economy after the COVID-19 pandemic through the revitalization of tourism while maintaining health protocols; (4) accelerate the development of the northern part of Bali by relying on agro-industry and ecotourism; and (5) accelerating the development of connectivity infrastructure between North Bali and South Bali.

“In this context, on this occasion I will present the theme carried out in the 2022 RKP, namely Economic Recovery and Structural Reform. The themes are then elaborated further into ten main focuses including; industry, tourism, infrastructure, MSMEs, food security, digital transformation, low carbon development, health reform, social protection reform, and education and skills reform, “he said.

Strategic priority projects (Major Projects) in the 2020-2024 RPJMN remain the focus of planning and funding in the 2022 RKP. Currently Bappenas is still in the process of playing a role as a clearing house to compile a list of Major Projects nationally for 2022, including major projects located in Bali province. Of course, by paying attention to the aspirations of the Governor and referring to the list of Major Projects of the RPJMN 2020-2024 located in Bali.
